912 Meeting Recap

Meeting Date: July 31, 2009
Approximate # in attendance: 60

HOME: Jennifer Naskov spoke about how homeschooling relates to the 912 movement - and why we believe it is the best thing for our children, and for our country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS6FM81MBgU

LOCAL: Mr. Henry Edwards gave a very encouraging talk about how his victory over the tax assessor's office is actually a victory for all property owners in Rutherford County. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csID5Lt8hsI

STATE: Zoran Naskov spoke briefly about the budget talks that change daily in Raleigh. He also gave information about a budget created by the John Locke Foundation that is good for NC and doesn't raise taxes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcFCpXfFfOo

NATIONAL: Maureen Seibler spoke about a little-known but very important topic - the Parental Rights Ammendment. www.parentalrights.org This topic is important, not only to parents, but to all Americans, as our rights are under daily attack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4CimpXKPWo

The 912 group was challenged to take some proactive steps toward changing/bettering our local government through taking petitions out to be signed regarding a more cost effective animal shelter than the CPC. You will find a Daniel Road Project Facts Sheet and a Petition at the following links:

Even if you were not at the meeting, you can participate in this endeavor. Just print out a petition and take it to friends, neighbors and people that you meet... We will be collecting signatures during the months of August/September to present before the Commissioners at the October meeting. This is a positive action plan for reducing debt in our county. Please email me if you have questions.

912ers Making a Difference!

Here's a picture sent to me by one of our Rutherford 912ers - Jim - who was able to speak with "Joe the Plumber" at the Take Back Our State Tea Party in Raleigh.

I know of at least 6 of our 912ers that made the looooong trip to Raleigh on June 3rd. (one of them even brought me back a tshirt!!!)

Keep up the GREAT work!
Set brushfires of freedom all across this great state!
